Douglas Walter, Associate

Doug Walter is a qualified architect with a strong technical background. He has extensive experience in the planning and design of a wide range of facility types including schools, medical facilities and commercial buildings.
Doug has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (1979) and a Masters of Architecture (1984) from the University of Manitoba where he also studied computer science. He is a member of the Manitoba Association of Architects.
Doug has more than twenty years experience in architectural design in Calgary, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and, since 1994, Victoria. The following are highlights from Doug's career:
- He has had a major role in the design of more than 20 educational facilities in Manitoba and British Columbia.
- He has worked on the design of several medical and personal care facilities.
- Doug has considerable experience with the design of residential and commercial buildings. His residential projects have included multi-unit developments and single residences. Doug's commercial projects have included the design of many office buildings as well as warehouses, daycare centres and retail space.
Doug has made a significant contribution to many Matrix studies including Qualicum Beach Middle and Secondary Schools, Fraser Valley Regional Justice Centre, Colquitz Secondary Area Study, Chilliwack Senior Secondary School, Greater Victoria School District Support Facilities, Central Saanich Municipal Hall, Long Range Facilities Plan for Delta School District, École Régionale Victor Brodeur, John Stubbs Memorial Elementary School, Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, and Kitsap County Facilities Masterplan. |
