Project
Project Definition, Marie Sharpe Elementary School, Williams Lake, BC
School District 27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin)
We defined all aspects of a plan to replace the existing MSES. We outlined a plan for the provision of elementary spaces in Williams Lake taking into account future enrolment forecasts and the other elementary schools in the community. The goal was to plan facilities such that the needs of students are met while, at the same time, having fully utilized facilities. This analysis also defined the appropriate capacity of the replacement for MSES. We defined the requirements for the replacement school, including a plan for how special programs in all Williams Lake elementary schools will be accommodated. We also identified the partnership opportunities in relation to the plan to replace MSES. We compared the financial, functional and strategic aspects of replacement on site with renovation of the existing facility. Finally, we addressed several topics related to how the project will be implemented, including procurement method, risk management, project schedule and project management. Completed in 2008.
