School Site Acquisition Charge, Big White Ski Resort, BC
School District 51 (Boundary)
The purpose of the School Site Acquisition Charge is to help pay for new school sites required as a result of residential development. We estimated the amount of future residential development and the number of students likely to be generated by new development at a ski resort. We then estimated the value of the land required for the new school and calculated the amount of the charge to be applied to the new development. This project was halted when site alternatives were offered by the developer of the resort. Completed in 2002.
