School Site Acquisition Charge, School District 23, Kelowna, BC
School District 23 (Central Okanagan)
The purpose of the School Site Acquisition Charge (SSAC) is to help pay for new school sites required as a result of residential development. We began by presenting the key concepts of the SSAC Implementation Guide to a group of school district and local government politicians and staff. Our analytical work included estimating the amount of future residential development and the number of students likely to be generated by the new development. We synthesized the School District's long–term facilities plan; calculated the SSAC; and documented the results in a summary report to be reviewed by all stakeholders. Completed in 2003.
