Penticton Regional Hospital, BC
Penticton Regional Hospital
Penticton Regional Hospital is a 204–bed acute care regional hospital with associated extended care beds. We worked with an architectural firm. Our primary responsibility was to assess the hospital's long–term bed needs and to define facilities programs for Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Laboratory and Education components. The architect generated design options for each of the components and outlined an implementation plan for the selected alternatives. We worked together to prepare the final Development Plan for the facility. The total space programmed for renovation and expansion was approximately 3300 m2. The project was noteworthy for the speed of execution, the extent of user involvement, and the creative interaction between programmers and designers. Completed in 1990.
