Prince George Courthouse, BC
BC Ministry of Attorney General - BC Buildings Corporation
We worked closely with a local Building Committee to define the requirements for a new 11–courtroom, 9700 m2 facility to house Supreme and Provincial Courts. In addition, the proposed building provided office accommodation for Crown Counsel and Probation Services. Initial area requirements for the courthouse were generated using the model developed in the Law Courts Facilities Planning and Design Guide we produced earlier. Subsequent meetings with user groups allowed us to refine the facilities requirements and resolve local planning issues. Later, we were retained to update the Program and liaise with the design team. Completed in 1991.
