Parksville Middle and Secondary Schools, BC
School District 69 (Qualicum)
We prepared a facilities development plan focusing on future facilities requirements for the Parksville Middle School and Ballenas Secondary School. In developing and assessing options for the future accommodation of schools, it was necessary to explore the implications for middle and secondary school facilities at a District–wide level. We conducted an assessment of population trends and community context, including a review of the demographic, social, economic and geographic characteristics of the District. In addition, we assessed existing school facilities; prepared enrolment projections; defined potential facilities development options; and estimated future facilities space requirements and capital costs based on Ministry of Education guidelines. Completed in 1992.
