Silver Creek Elementary School, Hope, BC
School District 32 (Hope)
We compared replacing the existing school with a new facility on the same site with relocating the students to other schools and closing the existing school. A previous study had determined that it was not economical to renovate the existing school. Our work included enrolment forecasts and assessments of the capacities of two other schools to accommodate more students. The views of parents and teachers were sought to assess the relative merits of the options being considered. Our study was completed in 1994. The existing facility was replaced with a new school in 1999.
