Highway Maintenance Yards Facilities Study, BC

The first objective of the study was to prepare a long–term plan for maintenance yards in the province. We developed and tested a service delivery model; outlined the need for maintenance yards; and identified priorities for implementation of specific capital projects. The second objective was to document planning and design guidelines for maintenance yards. We defined the basic types of highway maintenance facilities; delineated requirements for sites and facilities; and specified performance requirements for various building components. Completed in 1995.
