Elementary Attendance Areas, Qualicum School District, BC
School District 69 (Qualicum)
The District received approval to build two new elementary schools — a replacement and a new school to meet increased enrolment. In response to these changes, we redefined the attendance area boundaries for elementary schools throughout the district. We reviewed existing school enrolments, attendance areas, and enrolment forecasts. We then developed a computerized model to allow us to define alternative attendance area configurations and assess their impacts on school enrolments. We also defined the optimal capacities for the two new schools. Completed in 1997.
