Thomson Centre Expansion, Whitehorse, Yukon
Yukon Health and Social Services
The Thomson Centre is a 51–bed continuing care facility attached to Whitehorse General Hospital. An additional 30 beds were required to meet demand. We reviewed existing operations and building use, provided advice on the application of the BC Multi–Level Care Facility area allocation guidelines, and established a framework for defining building development options. A decision was subsequently made to provide a new replacement facility. Completed in 1997.
