Yellowknife Courthouse, Northwest Territories
NWT Justice - NWT Public Works and Services
The Yellowknife Courts have been located in a leased office building for the past 20 years. The Government of the Northwest Territories wished to determine whether it would be more cost–effective to redevelop the existing building or construct a new courthouse. We assessed the existing building, estimated future demand, and produced a preliminary redevelopment concept for the existing building and produced a detailed financial analysis of the two options. It was concluded that a new courthouse would satisfy the courts' requirements in the most economically responsible manner. Completed in 1998.
